Pop art artists

Andy Warhol was part of the Pop Art movement and he was famous for exploring popular culture in his work, using brands like Coca Cola and Campbell's Soup. He used pictures of famous people and repeated the same portrait over and over, but using different colours and effects. During October, the students of 5th of Primary made their own masterpieces. They used the iPad to reproduce a portrait. Now they are using the colour pencils to be original recreating a Cacaolat or Chupa chups drawing. They enjoyed a lot that activity and learned a little bit more about Andy Warhol and the Pop Art. What do you think about their work? I am sure we will enjoy watching them.

No ens agraden les faltes d'ortografia!

Els alumnes de cinquè han començat una activitat nova a l’escola. Són ELS ORTOBITS. Cada dia, durant una estona determinada, els nens i nenes llegeixen una sèrie de bits mitjançant les iPads. Les paraules que en ells apareixen són aquelles en les que acostumen a fer més faltes d’ortografia.

És una manera senzilla i divertida de millorar la seva ortografia i els alumnes de cinquè estan encantats amb aquesta metodologia. Tant de bo, quan acabi el curs, gairebé no facin faltes en els seus escrits.

My picture dictionary

The students of 5th grade of primary have already started working on their picture dictionary. Each student is creating her/his own keynote with the iPad. It’s a way of helping them to remember the new vocabulary and, of course, they love it because they can decide their own design.

So far, they already have four slides (countries, nationalities, daily routines, time expressions…). Let’s see by the end of the school year how long it is going to be! Good start everyone, keep on working!

Así nos gusta más

Hace ya unas semanas que tenemos los iPads y que hemos empezado a trabajar con ellos. En las clases de castellano hemos introducido el iTunesU. Esta aplicación nos ha permitido personalizar el aprendizaje y adaptarnos a los diferentes ritmos y necesidades de los alumnos.

Hemos creado organizadores gráficos, trabajado las entrevistas con el Pages y dentro de poco con el iMovie, estamos leyendo  ”Viaje al centro de la Tierra” de Julio Verne en la aplicación de Libros y muchas cosas más. Lo mejor es que esto es solo el principio, aún nos esperan más sorpresas.
